We’re Pairing Our Spanish Albarino With Tapas This Saturday
Mount Salem Vineyards is a Central European-inspired winery, where we handcraft fine wines that thrive in countries such as Austria, as well as in Hunterdon County.
However, for years, Albarino – which is a pure, barrel-fermented and aged Spanish and Portuguese wine that has both soft floral notes as well as a commanding boldness – has been just too good to pass up.
So, after sourcing Albarino grapes from South Jersey, which is where they flourish, we created an assertive wine that’s always been wildly popular with our subscribers. One subscriber told us, “I’m just back from a business trip to Spain, and your Albarino is clearly on par with what I had there.”

This Saturday, we’ll celebrate just that by pairing our Albarino with housemade Spanish tapas, which might as well be a match made in heaven. It’s a beautiful wine that pairs with just about anything, but especially Spanish and Portuguese flavors.
Join us this Saturday for a tasting of Albarino – and even leave with recipes of paired dishes – such as omelet with roasted potatoes and onion; cider-braised chorizo; white beans with tomato and ham; skewered ham, goat cheese and sun-dried tomato; and skewered pepper & olive.
While you’re at it, pick up a bottle for your own cellar – it will be a delicious trip to Spain and Portugal in a glass for years to come.
