Renata, the Kitchen Assistant Behind Our Central European Products
Here at Mount Salem Kitchen, Central Europeans are the backbone of everything we do, from cooking our authentic products to working in the vineyards of our sister company, Mount Salem Vineyards. Renata, now a U.S. citizen who moved from Central Europe 20 years ago, is one of those people we rely on here every single day.
Renata has been with Mount Salem Kitchen and Mount Salem Vineyards for about four years now and has done a little bit of everything, from preparing events to helping us in the kitchen with food production, packaging and labelling as our kitchen assistant, working with Agnes, our chief cooking officer.
Plus, for Renata, Mount Salem Kitchen is a family affair. Her husband, Paul, also helps us out – he built the farm tables in the Tavern Room and the Wine Barn Loft, and we sell his honey onsite.
Having grown up cooking and learning under her mother in Central Europe, Renata is a true foodie and loves sharing our creations with our customers.
“I feel so proud to introduce these products to people,” said Renata. “I love working with our team and sharing this great food with everyone.”
Renata said that although she loves all of the Mount Salem Kitchen products – “The smells, the tastes, all of it!” she said – the Liptauer, our cheese spread made from two cheeses, butter and seasonings from our family recipe, is her favorite.
“I’m always happy when I eat our Liptauer,” she said. “It’s just good on everything!”
