Visit Us For a Pairing Featuring Provencal Favorites on Sat., July 17
Our friends and customers may think of us as permanent fixtures here at Mount Salem Kitchen, but just last week, we were tucked away in a small fishing village in mid-coast Maine. There, we used the best of the region – a stream of fresh seafood and locally-grown vegetables – to create Provencal-inspired dishes such as lobster risotto and Tapenade (a spread of olives, capers, garlic and anchovy, with fresh lavender.)
Authentic eats and ample pours

Lobster risotto.
Now that we’re back home at the farm, we’re bringing our travels to you with our Pairing (a kitchen demonstration with paired wines) this Saturday, July 17 from noon-2 p.m. for $45 per person. We’ll be cooking up that very same lobster risotto, Tapenade on toasts, as well as farm fresh omelet, potato salad and assorted olives. Plus, all recipes will be available for you to take home.

While you watch us prepare the food, enjoy ample pours of three featured wines of the day, which will include a red, white and rose – yet all dry and crisp as perfect matches to offset the base of the risotto and the flesh of the lobster. Additional wine is available by the glass or bottle.
Bastille Day

Tapenade.
Fittingly, we’ll present this Pairing as our own Bastille Day gift to you, as lobster risotto comes directly from Provence in the South of France. Just like Hunterdon County, Provence has tough winters, but it also has beautiful, sun-kissed summers – and complementary bold-flavored eats, including lobster risotto.
We may be a Central European-inspired food and wine company, but believe it or not, this dish can also be found on the Adriatic Coast, which has French, Italian and Viennese influences in their cuisine. To us, part of the magic and charm of Europe is that it offers both very provincial cuisine, as well as fusions influenced by both nearby and distant borders.

Even if you love us for our pierogis and other authentic Central European eats, you’ll see at this Pairing that we make one mean – and authentic – lobster risotto. We can’t wait to see you there.
