Salt and Vinegar Chips Will Soon Hit Mount Salem Kitchen Shelves
Here at Mount Salem Kitchen, you can find sauces, seasonings and spreads – all of which is bound to bring your cooking to new heights. However, now we’re bringing you something to enjoy right out of the bag – homemade potato chips with vinegar and our Alpine seasoning.
It all started when our teens were searching for some salt and vinegar potato chips to snack on here at the farm, so we decided to have some fun and make a batch, sprinkling some of our Alpine Seasoning on them when they were hot out of the pan. They were such a hit that we worked on fine-tuning the recipe for small batches, and our newest product was born.
Starting next month, we’ll scale up these paper-thin potato slices cooked to perfection, dusted with finely crushed herbs and sea salt with just a hint of vinegar after getting feedback from our Mount Salem Kitchen guests and then, we’ll aim to bring them online and to farmers’ markets this spring and summer for you to enjoy.
Typical salt and vinegar chips often contain much too much salt and much too much vinegar, quickly wearing out our taste buds. However, you’ll soon found that our homemade morsels do just the opposite – you’ll be reaching into that bag again and again.
