Sunbeam General Store, Our Newest Retailer, is Frenchtown’s Step Back in Time
With boutique shops, colorful facades, historic buildings and a neighborly feel, Frenchtown – a small-town and hidden gem of the Delaware River community – is a step back to simpler times.
Nothing encompasses this nostalgic vibe better in town than the Sunbeam General Store. Since 1889, this store, located in the historic Gem building, has been the destination for eclectic items from local vendors for generations, culminating in a communal, friendly atmosphere that makes visitors feel like they’re walking into a time machine.
Now, our Central European food products can be found here within the wide variety of products, too, alongside a friendly staff and warm smiles. Our items have been a huge hit in this store where you could spend hours checking out river supplies, food products, penny candy and custom t-shirts – making for a place for children of all ages.
When the Sunbeam General Store opened a jar of our Liptauer, a cheese spread made from our own family recipe, it sold out in a single weekend. Don’t worry, they’re all restocked – and also have our Gewurz sauce and marinade on the shelves. Soon, they’ll be found at their New Hope location as well, which will be open for business in about two weeks.
When you shop at the Sunbeam General Store, you’re also supporting the Frenchtown community – they frequently host nature walks, intellectual gatherings and other local events to bring together local residents and also work to protect the beloved Delaware River to keep it as pristine as possible.
